Aldrich was a school principal in Vergennes, Burlington and Grand Isle. Comstock has seven years' real estate marketing experience. Dr. Carl Ellis joined Champlain College as director of the Center for Online and Continuing Education. He brings 24 years of experience with universities in Alaska, Montana, Nebraska and South Dakota. Faculty member Elaine Young has become the temporary assistant director of the e-Business and Commerce degree program. Knight is a licensed Vermont agent and broker and a board member of Champlain Valley Association of Insurance Women. Joseph M. Finnigan, president and CEO of Vermont Federal Credit Union, announced that Philip Shepard Jr. has joined the senior management team as vice president of lending. He was with New England Federal Credit Union. Sarah Carpenter, executive director of Vermont Housing Finance Agency, announced the hiring of Pat LaFond of Georgia as homeownership specialist. LaFond was with Chittenden Bank in Burlington. Shelly Gasow, M.D., joined Mark Seymour, D.O., in the combined specialty of family medicine and obstetrics at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. Gasow brings a broad range of experience from her work with the Peace Corps, the Indian Health Service in New Mexico, Doctors Without Borders in China and the Indian Health Service in Washington state. James W. Murdoch and Kurt M. Hughes of the law firm Murdoch & Hughes announced the association of Frank J. Twarog with the firm. He will concentrate in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury and family law. Michael Flynn, managing partner Gallagher, Flynn & Co. LLP, announced the CPQ and consulting firm has promoted co-managers Fred B. Grubb, SPHR, and Frank H. Sadowski, SPHR, to partner. Joining the firm as partner is Brian J. Monbouquette. He comes to Gallagher, Flynn from Unibex Inc. in Washington, D.C. The Vermont Convention Bureau is opening its second satellite office and its first out-of-state location in Boston, Mass. The office houses a part-time salesperson. VCB's main office is in Burlington, with a full-time satellite office in Rutland. David Cunningham was named executive chef at Perry's Fish House. He came to Vermont in 2001 from Louisiana, where he was a chef at Commander's Palace. Before taking his current position, he was chef de cuisine at Mary's Restaurant at the Inn at Baldwin Creek. Freeman French Freeman architectural firm of Burlington hired architect Peter Burns, who will work on projects for Burlington International Airport. He was with Rabideau Architects. Michael J. New was promoted to vice president for human resources at St. Michael's College. He has been with the college since July 2001. Toki Eley was appointed director of the Visiting Nurse Association's maternal and child health services. Lisa Simon was named associate director of maternal and child health for the VNA Family Room and Parent Child Center services. Keven Eriksen was named associate director of maternal and child health for perinatal and pediatric health services. All three have served with VNA in other positions. Century 21 Jack Associates welcomed Debra Carr to its sales team. Carr works in the Montpelier office. Place Creative Co., a strategic design and marketing firm in Burlington, hired Eileen Warner as director of accounts and business development. She was marketing director for the Stowe Area Association. Mail Boxes Etc. named Wendy Huff area operations manager for VT 210 and NY206, an area that covers stores in Vermont, New Hampshire and part of New York state. Acting Dean Rachel Johnson announced the appointment of Kenneth Becker and Christopher Koliba as co-directors of the master of public administration program in the University of Vermont College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont promoted Sharon Winn to director of quality improvement. She was counsel to the provider contracting department. Paul, Frank & Collins, attorneys at law, announced two new associates: Christopher J. Leff and Rebecca van Doren. Leff was with a Minnesota firm. Van Doren comes to Vermont from Arizona. SouthTrust Bank of Birmingham, Ala., named Karen R. Makowski senior vice president of performance enhancement. Makowski is former CEO of KeyBank of Vermont. Joseph L. Boutin, president and chief executive officer of Merchants Bank, announced the following staff changes. Christine M. Auriemma was named branch president of the bank's North Avenue office in Burlington. She succeeds Darcy Cunningham, who was named branch president of the Winooski office. Erin H. Perry was appointed branch president of the Fairlee office. She succeeds Lou S. Chase, who left the company. Linda J. Eaton was promoted to branch president of the Essex Junction office, succeeding Dori Richards, who transferred to the credit division. Robert P. Stiller, chairman, president and CEO of Green Mountain Coffee Inc., announced that Daniel R. Martin has joined the company as vice president of sales and marketing. Barbara Raab Nardozzi joined Honey Gardens Apiaries of Hinesburg to develop and formulate plant medicine and therapeutic products. Nardozzi is an adjunct professor of horticulture and herbalism at the University of Vermont and offers classes and apprenticeships in herbal studies at Bramblewood Gardens, her registered Plant Savers botanical sanctuary in Hinesburg. Frederick J. O'Brien has joined New England Financial as a financial representative. A member of the Million Dollar Round Table, he was with New York Life. Vermont Housing Finance Agency promoted Kathy Curley to the newly created position of tax credit compliance specialist. She was administrative assistant. David M. Oliveira was appointed chief financial officer for the Vermont Foodbank in Barre. He succeeds Cecelia M. Miller, who is retiring. Nancy Natvig, R.N., was hired as the Visiting Nurse Association's Adult Home Care services team manager. She was director of nursing at Mayo Healthcare. Vaughan, a veteran property and casualty insurance executive, joined Iroquois New England to manage its growth in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Lang Associates announced the addition of George L. Ballou II to its sales team. He has 20 years' experience, most recently in Maine. Pamela Ann Fregeau was named coordinator in the Lang, Lion & Davis division of the company. Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa announced the appointment of Bruno Roulleux director of food and beverage. Earlier, the board of trustees announced the appointment of Louise McCarren as chairwoman and accepted the appointment of four new members of the board: Wendy Davis, M.D., a pediatrician at FAHC and professor of pediatrics at the UVM College of Medicine; Cornelius Hogan, former secretary of the Vermont Agency of Human Services; Elisabeth Robert, president of Vermont Teddy Bear Co.; and William Schubart, president of Resolution Inc. Vice chairman of the board is Alan Overton. James Hebert, M.D., was named secretary. Jennifer Kellogg was hired as a designer by Jager Di Paola Kemp Design of Burlington.
