He has managed publications serving industries such as travel, electronics, food and communications. Spink & Miller PLC announced that Rebecca C. Raskin joined the firm as litigation associate. She was a litigation associate at Gravel and Shea. Wireless Junction in Essex Junction appointed Dan McFadden local sales manager. McFadden, who has six years' experience in wireless communications, was with Sovernet. Michael T. Walsh joined Hackett Valine & MacDonald Inc. as senior commercial account executive. He has worked in the insurance industry for eight years. Gregory Brown was named executive director of the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission. He has almost 20 years' experience with Vermont planning organizations and was commissioner of the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Affairs from 1998 to 2003. He follows interim executive director James Tolley, who joined VTrans as deputy secretary. National Life's board of directors elected Thomas H. MacLeay chairman and chief executive officer of National Life Group. James A. Mallon was elected to the board and named president and chief operating officer of National Life Insurance Co. and president and chief executive officer of National Financial Services Inc. MacLeay has been with the company for more than 26 years. Mallon was executive vice president and chief marketing officer since joining National Life Group in 1998. Mail Boxes Etc. named Bruce Fischer regional sales manager covering stores in Vermont, New Hampshire and part of New York. Charter One Financial Inc. named Ethan A. Allen Jr. vice president of corporate banking. He will originate commercial loans and manage existing loan relationships in New England and eastern New York. The Colchester resident was vice president of Community National Bank. Response Marketing Group, a provider of shared-use vanity 800 number services, has changed its name to 800 Response to better convey the fundamentals of its business. Rich Royer was named director of business development. Royer was founder and vice president of sales for Lightship Telecom. Jack Venooker and Holly-Ruth Stocking were named sales account managers. Northfield Savings Bank announced the following promotions and transfers: Sherry Doane, former Montpelier branch manager, was promoted to branch operations manager, working from the bank's home office in Northfield. Megan Cicio, assistant branch manager in Northfield, was named Montpelier branch manager. Diane McCormack, a customer service representative, moved from the Barre office to the Northfield office. Trane named Doug Young sales manager for owner markets in New York and Vermont. He was a comprehensive comfort solutions specialist for the company. Champlain Valley Urgent Care has relocated its South Burlington office to 7 Fayette Road. The larger space will allow Champlain Valley to add services and patient treatment space. The phone number remains the same: 865-3655. The partners of Stone Environmental Inc. announced the addition of Scott Johnstone as senior project director. Johnstone was secretary of the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. Dorothy L. Watson, PHR, joined Timberlane Dental Group as director of human resources. Watson held similar positions at Fletcher Allen Health Care and National Life of Vermont, and was director of traditional admissions at Trinity College. Wood & Wood Sign Systems of Waitsfield moved into a newly built 4,000-square-foot facility just off Vermont 100 between the Eclipse Theater and Allen Lumber Co. in Waitsfield. The move brings all of the company's operations under one roof. Burlington Broadcasters, owners of 106.7 WIZN and operators of 99.9 The Buzz, announced the addition of Marie Lahaie to the sales team. Lahaie was account executive with WLKC (Lake 103.3). ECHO at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain has named Katrina Roberts director of marketing and business development. She was business development specialist for the Greater Burlington Industrial Corp. and director of membership sales for the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. Susan Marino joined the ECHO staff as administrative assistant and scheduler. She was at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. The Montpelier government and public affairs firm Kimbell Sherman Ellis has hired Leif Johnson to direct the firm's new Washington, D.C., office. Johnson was vice president for business development and operations at Statescape Inc. The board of directors of the Homebuilders and Remodelers Association of Northern Vermont appointed Joe Sinagra executive officer of the association. He had served as the organization's government affairs director since November 2000. The Visiting Nurse Association promoted Dawn Stanyon to director of development and community relations and hired Martha Lunbeck as campaign manager. Stanyon was associate director of development. Lunbeck was a freelance consultant to nonprofits and managed COTS' recent capital campaign. The Community Health Center of Burlington announced that Brent Carpenter, MCP, MCSA, was appointed information systems assistant; Patricia Driscoll, PA-C, was hired as a physician's assistant; and David Promnitz was named community health outreach worker. Carpenter was a business analyst with a Dallas, Texas, firm; Driscoll was with Copley Hospital and Correctional Medical Services; and Promnitz was a shelter manager in Dutchess County, New York. Pedro J. Lopez-Baldrich joined the corporate, business, and banking and finance groups of Burak Anderson & Melloni PLC. He was an associate attorney with the Philadelphia office of a national law firm. Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and leasing broker representing the owner in the lease transaction of 566 square feet of waterfront office space in the Pomeroy House at 166 Battery St., Burlington, to Brenda Kerr, massage therapist. Lynn Publications leased 1,750 square feet of office space at 1700 Hegeman Ave. in Colchester to house operations for two of its newspapers, the Colchester Sun and the Essex Reporter. Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the leasing broker; Charlie Poulin of Pomerleau Real Estate was the listing broker in the transaction. Christine J. Zanfini joined the Vermont chapter of the March of Dimes as director of program services. She was with Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Northeast Benefits Management LLC in South Burlington announced that Kate Fosher was named benefits administrator. Fosher was with Morgan Stanley. Woodbury College hired Susan M. Palmer as its director of interdisciplinary studies program. She was staff attorney for Vermont Legal Aid's Poverty Law Project and assistant attorney general in the Consumer Protection Division of the Vermont Attorney General's Office. Vermont Energy Investment Corp. announced the following staff additions: Sheryl Loprete is project manager for Business Energy Services; Maria Gibson is administrative assistant in Business Energy Services; Julie McLaughlin is marketing coordinator to promote Efficiency Vermont's initiatives and Energy Star® programs throughout the state; and Susan Coleman is business development specialist. Christopher Barbieri, longtime president of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, has resigned to become Pacific Rim international trade liaison for the chamber. Barbieri will relocate to Shanghai, where he will foster trade relations between Vermont businesses and those from Taiwan, mainland China and Hong Kong. |
