The Chittenden Solid Waste District's Environmental Depot has moved from Burlington to 1011 Airport Parkway, South Burlington. Chittenden County residents may take household hazardous waste to the depot at no charge.

Mark A. McDowell was appointed northeast regional manager of 1st Discount Brokerage Inc. With the firm since 1995, he remains local branch manager.

Wachovia Securities in Colchester announced the addition of three investment team partners. Named senior vice president-investments were John M. Polanshek and Neil E. Callahan. Rosemarie Bowen is senior registered account administrator. All three come from Merrill Lynch.

Martha Keenan joined the staff of Housing Vermont as asset manager. She was with Redstone, where she earned the Certified Property Manager designation.

Michele S. Gatto, who served as the National Life Group's senior vice president and general counsel since joining the company four years ago, was promoted to executive vice president with expanded responsibilities in the area of corporate services.

Joseph D. Lisaius, president of Lisaius Marketing, announced the appointment of Heidi Noland-Wynne to senior designer. She was art director at Scientific American in New York City.

Lewis First, M.D., was named the first senior associate dean for educational and curricular affairs at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He will continue in his role as chairman of pediatrics and chief of Vermont Children's Hospital at Fletcher Allen Health Care.

Green Mountain Global has moved its offices to 123 Nottingham Lane, Burlington. The phone number is 865-2666.

Louis C. Tessier has joined Silverlake Wealth Management as an associate vice president of client development. He was with Morgan Stanley.

Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman Realty announced three appointments. Brendan Kehde was named buyers' agent for Geri Reilly's real estate team. After years in the insurance industry, Doug Boardman has taken on the role of sales associate. Neil Aguiar is sales associate, with a specialty in single-family homes and condominiums.

John Ecker, owner and designer of Fat Hat Factory in Quechee, announced the company's name change to Fat Hat Clothing Co. The change better reflects the company's products, which include designer women's clothing, menswear, gifts, bath and body products and hats.

Tom White was named golf pro at Stowe Country Club. He was a pro in Coral Gables, Fla., and Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Dr. Sandra Steingard was appointed medical director of The Howard Center for Human Services. She was acting agency medical director.

New Directions Consulting of North Bennington announced staff additions and promotions. Diana D'Evelyn was named training and management associate. She has 20 years of experience in the science industry. Lisa Dunbar was promoted to marketing manager and senior consulting associate; she was office manager. Susan Bernier has returned to the firm as office manager.The Vermont Symphony Orchestra named Ann Fingar office manager. She was with the Vermont Department of Health.

Chittenden Solid Waste District announced the reopening of its environmental depot at a new location, 1011 Airport Parkway, South Burlington. The Pine Street site was closed May 30. Chittenden County residents may leave household hazardous waste at the depot at no charge. CSWD also announced new hours for some drop-off centers, as well as price increases for recycling CFC-containing appliances and propane tanks. The Web site, www.cswd.net, lists all hours and fees.

Phillip Moore joined National Pension Service as pension administrator. Moore is a graduate of St. Michael's College.

Banknorth Vermont hired Robert Maynes as vice president, commercial banking, based in the company's main offices in Burlington. Maynes was vice president at Charter One Bank. Banknorth also announced this year's scholarship award recipients: Kimberly Niedzwiedz and Kara Persons, children of bank employees Corrine Sysun and Thomas Abbott, respectively. Each student will receive $2,500 for the first year of undergraduate tuition.

Vermont Energy Investment Corp. announced the following staff additions and promotions. Amy Choma was named office manager. Bonnie Williams was hired as receptionist/administrative assistant. Residential services coordinator in Residential Energy Services is Amy Beth Stinchfield. Neil Curtis was hired as project manager in Business Energy Services. Jay Pilliod was promoted to market manager in Business Energy Services. Peg Adorisio is staff accountant. Mary Jane Poynter was promoted to senior project manager in Business Energy Services.

Engelberth Construction Inc. has hired John B. Stetson, P.E., as director of integrated services, overseeing the preconstruction phase of projects.

Redstone hired Michael Marceil as director of property management. He has more than eight years' experience in property management and customer service; he recently relocated from Boston.

The Lake Champlain Islands Chamber of Commerce board of directors appointed Ruth Wallman executive director. Wallman was UVM's director of government relations for 13 years and subsequently, executive director of First Night Burlington and public engagement coordinator for the Child Care Fund of Vermont.

Pomerleau Real Estate announced that Katherine Saunders was promoted to marketing director in the commercial real estate division, where she worked as assistant to the brokers in the firm. Edward Helmer joined the commercial real estate division as commercial salesman.

IBM has named John DiToro senior location executive for the Vermont facility. He assumes the responsibility in addition to his position as vice president, semiconductor manufacturing. DiToro succeeds Henry J. Geipel, who retired.

Julie Gauthier was hired by Vermont Tent Co. as event rental specialist. Both a Certified Event Rental Professional and a Certified Event Rental Manager, she was with Valley Rent-All in Waterbury.

Small Dog Electronics in Waitsfield added two employees to its team: Kevin Diffily, hired to work in the tech support department, and Emily Peplowski, who works in the shipping department.

Burlington College announced the following staff appointments. Teresa Faust was named director of library and information services. She was with Fairfield University in Connecticut. Jack Austin is director of development. He was with Borders. Joanne Coward was appointed human resources generalist. She was at Allied Domecq in the United Kingdom.

Joanne Farrell was named artistic director of Champlain College Theatre. She also directs the college's professional writing degree program.

The Stern Center for Language and Learning added two staff members: Fran Ingram, M.A., with a National School Psychology certification, was named educational diagnostician. Jesse Simpson, B.S., is the network/technology coordinator.

Mike Bregenzer was named district manager covering the New York-Vermont territory for Trane. With over 25 years' experience, Bregenzer relocated from the New Orleans office, where he was district manager.

Vermont Energy Investment Corp. announced the following staff additions: Heather Condon joined VEIC as associate project manager; Heather Monti was named project assistant for Business Energy Services; Janice Dawley is a desktop systems specialist; and Victor Morrison was named operations manager in Business Energy Services. Changing jobs within the company were: Erik Brown, promoted to technical coordinator for Business Energy Services; Paul Lambert, named business development manager; and Greg Pedrick, promoted to senior project manager in Business Energy Services.

Vermont Ski Areas Association has promoted Victoria Provost to marketing director. She was program coordinator and marketing manager for the organization. ·
