Jack Tenney, president of Mill Publishing Inc. and publisher of Business People–Vermont and Business Travel Guide, announced that Rebecca Awodey was promoted to vice president of operations for Mill Publishing. She has been with the company since 1986 and will continue to serve as general manager of Business People–Vermont. Paul Tenney has rejoined Business People–Vermont as associate publisher. He was one of the company's first employees in 1984, working as a delivery driver.

Tom O'Connell, vice president of operations of the Windjammer Hospitality Group, announced the following promotions at the Windjammer Restaurant and Conference Center: Daniel Phelan is general manager of the Windjammer Restaurant; Carrie Robinson is assistant general manager; Amy Chamberlain is assistant manager/restaurant administrator. Doug McSweeney is Upper Deck Pub manager; Jared Kingsley is assistant manager. Brenda Palechek is conference sales manager.

The Redstone announced the appointment of Realtor status to Duncan S. Harris. He is involved with the sale and leasing of commercial real estate throughout the state. The firm also announced the addition of Michael Marceil as director of property management for the property management division. He has 12 years' experience in real estate.

Jill Kennett of Middlebury joined Maple Landmark Woodcraft as sales manager. She was general manager at Fire & Ice Restaurant for 15 years.

Office Environments Inc. of Williston welcomed Meg McGovern to its contract furniture sales division. Her 15 years of experience includes work at McAuliffe's, Boise Office Products and Wright Line.

Lang Associates real estate firm named Dan Irish system administrator. He was a contractor at IBM. Joining the Lang sales team are: Shane Handler, marketing assistant; Lou Savalli, sales; Michelle Kessler, sales; Marianne Callahan, sales; and Peter Audette, who joins the Carol Audette team as a buyer specialist/Realtor.

Black River Design, Architects of Montpelier announced two additions to its staff. Marsha Wilmot was named office manager. She was with Donor Relations at Dartmouth College. Kene Meniru is an architectural designer from Nigeria and a Ph.D. candidate at Concordia University in Montreal in computer aided design.

Jager Di Paola Kemp Design announced the appointment of four new employees. Leigh Horton and Robert Hamble are senior account managers. Frank DeRose was named Web developer/animator. Jeff Proctor is a graphic designer.

The Vermont Institute on Government Effectiveness Inc. announced that David Bradbury was hired as its first executive director. He was a management consultant in Stowe and served with the Vermont Agency of Commerce and the Vermont Department of Economic Development.

Elaine Horseman, RN, CPUR, CCM, has joined the staff of Concentra Integrated Services Inc. in Williston as telephonic and field case manager.

John J. Davis & Associates CPAs of Williston announced the addition of three professional staff members: Matt T. Gravelin is staff accountant; Joyce Angel is tax preparer; and Linda J. Serrantonio is executive assistant.

Roger L. Webster joined New England Financial as a financial representative. He has more than 13 years' experience as a financial professional.

Elizabeth Tuthill Roberts was hired as a programmer/analyst for Vermont Mutual Insurance Group in Montpelier. She was with Distribution One of Vermont.

SUI International Ltd., a provider of imprinted promotional products with headquarters in Williston and offices in Amsterdam and Hong Kong, has launched a new division, BrandRoads.com, offering custom imprinted promotional products. Rob Rothman is CEO. Jeff Cooper, director of sales and marketing, leads the introduction of the division.

Northfield Savings Bank named Bruce Bernier to the newly created position of Chittenden County business lending officer. He was with Lyndonville Savings Bank.

Bob Paroline of Essex Junction has joined the sales team at Re/Max Preferred.

TwinState/Voice.Data.Video Inc. hired Joel Charbonneau, a system technician specializing in telecommunications installation, design and implementation, for its Concord, N.H., office.

Banknorth Vermont announced the promotion of Jennifer Conger to business development and sales manager II at the Swanton branch. She has been with the bank since 1986. Louis M. Levine was named account executive for personal lines throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont by Banknorth Insurance Group in Portland, Maine.

Hackett Valine & MacDonald Inc. hired Lisa A. Benneig as assistant commercial account representative in the commercial package department.

John Klesch was appointed executive director of the Vermont Retail Association. A graduate of Vermont Law School and Dickinson College, Klesch has practiced law in Vermont for eight years.

Green Mountain Coffee appointed Frances G. Rathke chief financial officer. She was interim chief financial officer from April 2003. Rathke is the former chief financial officer of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc. and was interim CFO for Wild Oats Markets Inc.

St. Michael's College announced the following faculty appointments. Donna Marie Angelina Freitas joined the faculty as assistant professor of religious studies. She was at St. John's University in Queens, N.Y. John F. Halliwell, doctoral candidate at Michigan State University, is an instructor in the school for international studies. Jennifer Hart Weed, doctoral candidate at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Mo., is an instructor in the philosophy department. Molly Millwood, postdoctoral fellow in clinical psychology at Stanford University Medical Center, was named assistant professor of psychology. Colin A. Pillay, doctoral candidate in finance at Louisiana Tech University, was named instructor in the business department. Greta Pangborn is assistant professor on the computer science faculty. She was a visiting assistant professor last year. Michael Olson, visiting assistant professor in the philosophy department, was named assistant professor in the department.

Hettena Wright & Horton CPAs of Williston hired Patrice Onofrio as staff accountant. She has six years of income tax preparation experience with local firms.

Daniel J. Rodliff South Burlington joined Liberty Mutual Group as sales representative in the personal markets department at the company's South Burlington office.

The Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center announced the addition of Rob Smart as business development manager and Cindy Fessel as financial manager. Smart has 13 years' experience in product, market and sales management; Fessel has 20 years in financial and cost accounting.

The certified public accounting and business consulting firm of Gallagher Flynn & Co., LLP, hired Courtney W.P. Brown as director of business development. He was with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Boston/Hartford offices. Jason B. Hamilton and Tim Carney were named seniors in the audit and accounting program.

Country Walkers in Waterbury hired Alex Arnold of assistant regional manager. He was with the Stowe Conservation Commission and the Green Mountain Inn.

Kim Swartz was named director of the St. Michael's College Women's Center. Swartz worked for several years in Vermont, Canada and Honduras as an advocate specializing in women's issues, public health, poverty and hunger.

Bill Verity, president of Crown Verity, announced the appointment of Joe Bourgeois as director of U.S. sales. He was director of sales and business for MagiKitch'n.

David C. Dargie, P.E., head of Dufresne-Henry's aviation engineering division and of the Portland, Maine, area office; Gregory A. Edwards, P.E., head of the surface transportation engineering division and of the South Burlington area office; Mark L. Wetzel, P.E., head of water and wastewater disciplines in southern New England and of the company's Westford, Mass., area office; and Stephen P.C. Plunkard, ASLA, director of marketing, were named senior vice president. Michael J. Chenette, P.E., senior project manager in South Burlington and Montpelier, and Wesley R. Hazelton, P.E., project manager in the Portland, Maine, office, were named associates in the firm.

Rita Bevacco was named program manager at Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility. She was a freelance copy editor and translator.

Otter Creek Engineering announced the addition of Scott Mathews and Scott Lehman to the firm. Mathews is a senior technician based in Rutland. Lehman is an engineering technician based in East Middlebury.

Adelphia Communications announced the appointment of Burlington lawyer and lobbyist Lisa Birmingham as corporate counsel and manager of government affairs for the state of Vermont. The company also announced the appointment of Mary E. McLaughlin as vice president and area manager for Vermont and New Hampshire.

Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman Realty announced the following staff additions. New sales associates include Kieran Donnelly, who is teamed up with Kirsten Donnelly, also a Realtor; Edie Brodsky, who comes from retail sales; Tom Bouvier, owner of Brite-World Professional Services; Dana Basiliere, retired from IBM; and Chuck Cromer, who comes from the restaurant and health club industries. Sarah Cromie joined the Nancy Desany real estate team as executive assistant and buyers' agent.

Champlain Vocational Services named Kelly Homiller executive director. Homiller replaces interim executive director Rosemary Drabing.

Burlington Broadcasters Inc., owners of 106.7 WIZN and operators of 99.9 The Buzz, announced the addition of Tyler Radtke to its sales team. He was with Nortel Networks in New York and San Francisco.

Redstone hired Rae Rappold as office assistant/public relations. She has more than 22 years' experience in the community.

Rock of Ages Corp. named Amanda Pittsley public relations coordinator. The Williamstown resident has been with the company for more than three years.

Lincoln Applied Geology Incl. announced the addition of Kevin R. LaRose, L.S., E.T., Certified Site Technician B, and Elias J. Erwin to its environmental team. LaRose was with O'Leary Burke Civil Associates. Erwin was named environmental scientist/field consultant. He was a foreman with Great Meadow Farm.

Jager Di Paola Kemp Design announced the appointment of Lisa McKeithen as colorist and Darren Higgins as proofreader/copy editor. McKeithen was with H.H. Brown Shoe Co. in Connecticut. Higgins was contributing editor of Raven Chronicles, Seattle and Burlington, and was an intern at Resonance magazine.

The Stern Center for Language and Learning appointed Robin Bertrand to a newly created position of part-time administrative assistant. The organization also announced changes to its management team. Mary Allen Stifler, M.A.T., was named vice president for program administration. In a restructuring of the development department, Megan Cluver, B.A., was named development/community relations coordinator; Laurie Caswell Burke, Ed.M., formerly with April Cornell Giving World Foundation, was named development officer; and William Billings, B.S., was appointed marketing director. Earl Walters, B.S., replaced John Connell as chief financial officer. Connell left the Stern Center to focus on his St. Albans businesses.

Hobart C. Tomlinson has joined the flight department at Heritage Flight. He has been an FAA-designated flight examiner for 27 years.

Banknorth Vermont announced the addition of Joan Moran, registered representative, to its Bancnorth Investment Planning Group in Brattleboro. She was with Chittenden Trust Co.

Cortina Inn and Resort appointed Guy Rossi director of sales. Rossi has more than 20 years of hotel sales and management experience with other Rutland/Killington area hotels.

Vermont Energy Investment Corp. announced the following new staff members: Randy Bright is project manager for Residential Energy Services; Chris Schuft is IT project manager.

Yankee Captive Management Inc. announced that Karen M. Venner joined the company as account manager. She was with Aon Insurance Managers.

Scott Carpenter, Vermont district president of KeyBank N.A.'s McDonald Financial Group, announced the hiring of Maureen E. Forenza and Rebecca Beers as financial advisers. Forenza was with Smith Barney in Burlington; Beers was with Bank One in Chicago.

Brenda King Stewart has joined Chase Home Finance as a senior loan officer in its Shelburne office. She has more than nine years' experience in the mortgage industry.

Brennan J. Neill was promoted to the position of broadcast coordinator at Vermont Public Television. He oversees special programming projects and assists with program scheduling and acquisitions.
