Wachovia Securities announced that Darin Pope has joined the firm as senior vice president-investments in the firm's Colchester office. Pope was with the McDonald Financial Group in Burlington.

Janice St. Onge has joined the Vermont Business Center at the University of Vermont's school of business as director of business education and team member of the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies, an incubator initiative affiliated with the university. St. Onge was with the Vermont Department of Economic Development.

Northfield Savings Bank announced the appointment of Donna Bohonnon as assistant manager of NSB's Bethel branch. A South Royalton native, Bohonnon has nearly 30 years' experience in banking in central Vermont.

Justin Pfeifer and Kyle Abrahamovich have joined the New England Financial team as financial representatives. Pfeifer was with JP Morgan Chase & Co. in New York. Abrahamovich graduated from Castleton College with a major in business administration and earned his MBA from Clarkson.

Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa named Scott McIntosh director of sales and has promoted three senior managers. Sheri Baraw is vice president and general manager; Scot Baraw is vice president of sales; and Kim Dixon is director of marketing. McIntosh was executive director of the Vermont Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Rhonda Justice, marketing coordinator at Chittenden Bank, was promoted to banking officer. She has been with the bank since 1999. Stephanie S. Huestis was promoted to assistant vice president in the small business lending division. She joined the bank in 2001.

Marvin Getman of New England Antique Shows in Lexington, Mass., was named to take over management of the annual Champlain Valley Antiques Festival, sponsored for 28 years by the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Sue McKinnis, the owner of Curtain & Home Collection, announced that interior decorator Cheri Sorrell has joined the staff. The shop has moved to 421 Lawrence Place, Blair Park, Williston. The phone number is 872-8005.

Ghostwriters Communications Inc., a marketing communications and public relations group in Poultney, has hired Kathleen Wanner as senior project manager. She has experience as a writer of user and policy manuals, sales and marketing collateral, grants and proposals, and strategic plans for several industries.

Sen. Patrick Leahy, Gov. James Douglas and University of Vermont President Daniel Mark Fogel announced the launch of the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies at the university. VCET is a small-business development program designed to foster the success of new high-growth, high technology firms in Vermont.

Doreen Kraft, executive director of Burlington City Arts, announced the hiring of Angela Patten as development director. Patten was with the Vermont Arts Council.

Vincent DiBernardo and Wendy Meno have joined the staff of Yankee Medical. DiBernardo is the switchboard operator; Meno is the clinic coordinator.

Gary N. Farrell, owner of the Clarion Burlington Hotel and Suites, and Rick Milliken, general manager, have hired Cathy Blanton Farr to spearhead marketing research and promotion of the hotel's new luxury suites and event space renovations. Farr was with the Wilson Inn.

Vermont Energy Investment Corp. hired Sara Davie as a residential energy services coordinator. Michael Socks has joined the staff as a project manager in business energy services. Davie and Socks are from Massachusetts. Jonathan Kleinman has moved from project manager to market coordinator in business energy services.

The Vermont Institute of Natural Science will open the VINS Nature Center in Quechee in June.

Redstone hired Peter Wisell as project manager of Redstone Construction. Wisell has been in the construction industry since 1999.

Karey Young has joined the Prudential Realty Mart as an agent. She has been in real estate since 2002.

The Vermont Convention Bureau, a division of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, announced that John Cammarano was named executive director. Cammarano was the chamber's welcome center supervisor. Sandy Preston, a tourism specialist at the Interstate 89 welcome centers, will assume the supervisor position.

KPMG LLP has named Ken Deon managing partner of its Burlington office. Deon was managing partner of the firm's West Palm Beach office. He succeeds Paul R. Sisson, who is retiring.

Joseph M. Finnigan, president and CEO of Vermont Federal Credit Union, announced that Amy Carlson has returned to the staff as manager of the South Burlington branch.

Sarah Carpenter, executive director of Vermont Housing Finance Agency, announced the hiring of Eliza Smith-Vedder as multifamily development underwriter. Smith-Vedder was with the Burlington Community Land Trust.

The H.L. Turner Group Inc. of Danville has formed a new banking design group headed by Alex Vergara of Henniker, N.H. Vergara was the founder of Bank Branch Design Group Inc. and Bank Products Group LLC.

Dr. Robert Perry, president of Champlain College, announced he will retire in June. He has been with the college since 1982 and president since 1992. The college also announced new bachelor's degree programs in broadcasting, mass communication and marketing for the fall.

Bread Loaf Corp. announced two new hires. William Kraus was named senior estimator; Raymond Keller was appointed manager of mechanical, electrical and plumbing services. Kraus was with a firm in Fort Collins, Colo. Keller was with R&M engineering in Hinesburg.

Fletcher Allen Health Care named Angeline M. Marano chief operating officer. Marano was senior vice president and senior operating officer at the University Hospitals of Cleveland. Also hired were Richard E. Magnuson, chief financial officer, and Paul Macuga, vice president of human resources. Magnuson was with a hospital in Minneapolis; Macuga worked for several Chicago-area hospitals.

Sentinel Administrative Services Co. of Montpelier announced the promotion of three people. John Landy is senior vice president of operations; Shawna Gaboriault is director of shareholder administration; and Christie Keene is director of regulatory and financial control.

Mindy Stone has joined the Century 21 Advantage team of real estate professionals as closing department manager.

Steve Wright was named marketing director at Jay Peak Ski and Summer Resort. He was a marketing manager at Killington. ·
