Isis for Women in Burlington announced the appointment of Lisabeth Kokx as technical outerwear developer and Kristen Toy as national sales manager, a new position. Kokx was with Cornell Trading. Toy was with Peregrine Outfitters.

SoVerNet announced the addition of Jonathan Potter to its field sales team. Previously with Symquest, Potter will concentrate on the central Vermont/Rutland region. Frank Guzzardo was hired in the inside business sales and business customer retention division. He has sales experience in the restaurant equipment industry and will work from the company’s Winooski office. Working with Guzzardo in Winooski is Jim Lewis. Lewis started with the company in April 2002 as a representative in the accounts and residential sales divisions.

Caleidoscope Communications, a telecommunications company, has appointed Joanna Harrington account manager.

Dubois & King Inc. consulting engineers announced that Jonathan A. Rugg joined the civil works division as a design engineer. Rugg is a recent Norwich University graduate.

Century 21 Advantage announced that Kathleen Peden has joined its team. The native Vermonter has a business and finance background.

Fletcher Allen Health Care announced the resignation of John R. Brumsted, M.D., as chief medical officer and president of the institution’s faculty practice, effective Nov. 15. He will also step down from his position as senior associate dean for clinical affairs at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Brumsted will continue to practice medicine at the hospital and remain on the College of Medicine faculty as professor of obstetrics and gynecology. Fletcher Allen also announced that Jean S. Harry, R.N., MSA, was named chief nursing officer. Harry, who has been serving in the position on an interim basis, has been with the hospital for 20 years.

Jennifer B. Towne has joined Citizens Bank as a member of its commercial lending group in Burlington. Towne serves as assistant vice president. She has 12 years of experience at banks in Chittenden County. John P. Ravaschiere joined Citizens as a vice president of its commercial banking group. He has more than 25 years’ experience at financial institutions in the Northeast.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. announced it has hired James Travis as vice president of sales. Travis has more than 19 years of sales, trade marketing and business leadership experience in the consumer packaged foods industry. He was national sales manager with Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc.

Sarah Carpenter, Vermont Housing Finance Agency’s executive director, announced the hiring of Tina Franzen as accounting clerk. Franzen joined the agency in March as an intern handling accounts payable in the finance department. She previously worked at Harrington’s of Vermont and the United States Postal Service.

Otter Creek Engineering announced that Mark P. Youngstrom, P.E., was advanced to partner in the firm. He is a managing engineer in the Rutland office.

Gregory Erdmann was hired by Competitive Computing Inc. of Colchester as business development manager for the infrastructure and managed support services market. He was with Ascension Technology.

Scott Daley of Fayston joined Northern Benefits Ltd. of Burlington as financial strategist. He has five years’ experience in financial strategies and investment planning.

Omega Optical Inc. announced that Bruce Gardner has been named executive vice president of the company. Gardner has more than 35 years’ experience at optical and high-tech firms in southern Vermont, including 15 years as president of Janos Technology Inc., formerly located in Townshend.

John B. Stetson, P.E., of Engelberth Construction Inc. was promoted to vice president of preconstruction services. He has been with the company since 2003 and is licensed in Vermont, New York and New Hampshire.

Secretary of State Deborah L. Markowitz named Christopher Winters director of the office of professional regulation. Winters has been licensing board council in the office of the Secretary of State. He replaces Jessica Porter, who now serves as operations chief for the Vermont Department of Health.

Poulin Performance and Rehabilitation Center announced that Kari Callahan, MPT, ATC, has joined its staff. Callahan is a Certified Athletic Trainer and a recent graduate of the University of Vermont with a master’s in physical therapy.

Jeffrey H. Teitel, formerly of Deloitte & Touche LLP in New York, has joined Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC as a director and owner in the environmental law group. He has more than 30 years of experience in environmental law and five in public health work. Pamela J. Coyne joined the firm as “of counsel” in the labor and employment practice group. Coyne was with a Bridgeport, Conn., law firm.

Timberline Interactive in Middlebury announced the hiring of Deborah Saporito as co-director of client services. Saporito has 15 years of direct marketing and business development experience, most recently with a Connecticut firm.

EnSave of Richmond announced the appointment of Dawn Perreault as director of program operations. EnSave supports the American agricultural sector with energy conservation and pollution prevention programs.

Gary Kessler, an information security expert, was named director of a new degree program in information security announced by Champlain College. It joins Champlain’s computer networking, and computer and digital forensics programs and begins in the fall semester. A bachelor’s degree and a seven-course professional certificate will be introduced.

Thomas S. Leavitt, senior vice president of retail banking for Merchants Bank, announced the appointment of Barbara J. Fortini to the position of branch president of the Bennington branch. Fortini also earned the officer title of assistant vice president. She has been with the bank since 1989.
