What are Featured Business pages?
Many Business People-Vermont advertisers have requested space and links on our popular Web site, www.vermontguides.com. The Featured Business program gives you much more than a banner or a link; it gives you a carefully crafted Web page to add value to your other marketing.
If your business has a Web site, you recognize that having quality content and quality links to your pages are crucial to generating traffic. Featured Business pages are an important way to give you the best links and the best content for your business.
If your business doesn't have a Web site, there is even more reason to join our program. When customers search for your businesses on the Internet, you want them to find more than a phone number. You want them to find you as a Featured Business on a quality business information site.
Front Page Links
Once the program is up and running, Featured Business pages will be posted on our front page on a rotating queue.
All Featured Business pages will be linked on the Featured Business navigation on each Featured Business page.
Google
Our site ranks very high in Google searches for local businesses. As an example, search for "Redstone Nedde" to see just how high. Only Redstone's own site ranks higher.
Take advantage of that to get your page on our site noticed. Good content, good keywords and good meta descriptions will help your page get high marks. Featured Business pages make it simple.

Detailed or lengthy product/service specs, prices and ordering information should be hosted your site, rather than on Featured Business pages.
Updating information
We can update your information at no charge on a limited basis. If you have information that requires modification more often, it is best to provide links for pages hosted on your own site that you can update at will.
Formatting
There are three ways to prepare information for your company's Featured Business Page.
- You may use this template to guide you in submitting your information, or simply give us text and images and we will format all the HTML. Call (802) 862-4109 to email your text and image files to us.
- You may provide us with general company information that we will edit as needed.
- You may direct us to your Web site so that we can craft a page for you gleaned from the information there.
Text
Text should be at least 400 but not more than 3,000 words. We will provide editing and proofreading as necessary, and give you the opportunity to see the finished page before it is linked to our Featured Business index.
Pictures and Logos
Optimized images should be limited to 300k total for all contributed graphics on a page. Please use a JPEG or GIF format. Each image should be no more than 200 pixels wide by 300 pixels tall. We may further optimize your images if needed.
You may host images on your server and provide link information. This may be preferred for images that you would like to change regularly. If you keep the size, location and file name the same, it should update automatically.

You and/or your agent must be authorized to publish the entire contents and subject matter you provide to Mill Publishing.
